Frequently Asked Questions
Will I meet my dog walker/sitter before they start?
Yes. We will arrange to come and meet you and your dog to introduce ourselves. We will leave you our details and you can decide whether to contact us. We like to arrange a complimentary trial walk to make sure that you are a 100% happy before you start.
How do you select your dog walkers?
All walkers are thoroughly interviewed and undergo a practical assesment. We obtain at least two references and all of our team are big animal lovers!
Will my dog always be walked by the same walker?
If you have regular walks then we will arrange for the same walker to look after your dog(s). We also like to introduce all of our dogs to a second walker so they are familiar with both walkers when cover is needed when your walker is on holiday. If you do not have regular walks or if you book last minute walks then we will endeavour to provide the same walker depending on availability.
Do you have insurance?
Yes. We are fully Licenced, Bonded and Insured .
How much do you charge?
Please refer to our Rates page where all our prices are listed.
Do you do dog boarding?
We prefer to provide our dogs with a more personal touch than what is usually provided in kennels and therefore we have hand selected home boarders who are all huge dog lovers. They limit the number of dogs that they look after in their home and they are cared for as a pet in a loving home environment.
Do you do dog sitting?
Yes. We are happy to arrange for your dog to be cared for in your own home whilst you are away. Please contact us for a quote.
Will my dog walk on its own or within a group?
Initially we walk all dogs on their own to give our walker and your dog time to get to know each other. Thereafter, we very rarely walk more than 2 dogs at a time. In the right circumstances we would consider walking 3 dogs together but only where we are satisfied that each dog gets plenty of attention. If you prefer for your dog to have one to one walks then we can arrange this.
How do you arrange picking up and dropping off the dogs?
All our walks are done on foot as a dog’s natural habitat is not sitting in a van so we walk to all destinations. We will collect your dog from your home or place of work at a designated time and then return them safely and clean after every walk.
Which areas do you cover?
Our Service area is Dexter, Michigan (48130) and surrounding area.
What are your hours of service?
We operate from 7.00am - 9.00pm.
Can we leave a key with you?
Yes, the majority of our client's are at work when we arrive so we are often provided with keys. Keys are kept in a safe location by your allocated walker.
Do I have to book regular walks?
We offer one off walks or walks on a regular basis, the decision is all yours.
How do we book with you?
You can either Book An Appointment or give us a call on 734-789-3649 (DOGZ)
Do you offer pet feeding services?
Yes we are happy to visit your home and feed your pet at a pre-arranged time agreed by yourself. The cost of this is £8 per feed .
What happens in an emergency?
In the unlikely event of an emergency, we would contact you on your designated number immediately and if veterinary help is required we will take your pet to your own vet or the nearest vet depending on the circumstances .
Which methods of payment do you accept?
We send invoices at the end of each week and we ask that payment be made within 14 days of the date of the invoice. We accept direct debits, bank transfers, standing orders, cheques and cash.
I would like to meet you with a view to you walking or sitting my dog, what shall I do next?
Please give us a call, send a message through the contact page or drop us an email to let us know what service you require. We will then arrange to come and see you and your dog. We will leave our information pack and instruction form and if you decide you would like to go ahead then we ask that you return the completed instruction form and we can go from there. For the safety of our dogs we will need to see up to date vaccination documents from your vets before we proceed.
